OVERVIEW
The 2025 TAB Territory Punter of the Year competition will be held in conjunction with the Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival on TAB Metric Mile Day Saturday 26th July, 2025.
The competition will be an on course only event with $10,000 up for grabs in prizemoney.
Full prizemoney details are outlined below. Syndicates can be made up of between 2 – 10 people. Syndicate members must be over the age of 18-years-of-age at the time of competition.

PRIZEMONEY
The Syndicate with the largest bankroll after the last competition race on Saturday, 26 July 2025 will be declared the winner. Standings will rank all bankrolls based on dollar value from largest to smallest, with first place being the largest bankroll and last place being the smallest bankroll (or first to a balance of $0).
Prizemoney is as follows:
FIRST PLACE: $5,000 + Syndicate Bankroll
SECOND PLACE: $2,500 + Syndicate Bankroll
THIRD PLACE: $1,500 + Syndicate Bankroll
FOURTH PLACE: $1,000 + Syndicate Bankroll
ADDITIONAL $5k UP FOR GRABS
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the brand new Metric Mile $5k Challenge, giving teams the chance to pocket an extra $5,000 in prizemoney! Teams must pick the winners of all seven (7) races to take home the prize. The Challenge does not contribute to the TAB Punter of the Year standings, is free to enter, and limited to one entry per team. Entries must be submitted by 12:45pm sharp on the day.
HOSPITALITY
Each syndicate member is required to purchase a $80 hospitality ticket which includes a delicious buffet luncheon, two complimentary drink tokens, racebook, pen, stubby holder and reserved seating on Level 2 of the The Grandstand.
DRESS CODE: Entrants are reminded that this is a feature event and dress codes apply.

- 11:00am: Gates & Level 2 opens
- 11:30am: Syndicate Captains to collect official team Punter’s Pass
- 12:00pm: Territory Punter of the Year welcome & briefing
- 12:15pm: Punter of the Year Competition counter opens to start accepting bets. A reminder that a Quaddie must be placed to the value of $200 on the Melbourne Metropolitan meeting (Caulfield) prior to Darwin Race 1.
- 12:30pm: Buffet Lunch served
- 12:45pm: Metric Mile $5k Challenge entries close
