At only his second start in the Top End, Spaceship show he has a bright future when overcoming obstacles to score in the Ladbroke It! Handicap, feature event at Fannie bay on Saturday.

The athletic four-year-old son of Invader had been impressive at his first Darwin outing when winning in class 2 company on April 12, and trainer Gary Clarke threw him in the deep end for his second attempt at the Top End 1200m.

“It was only going to be a small field, so we decided to test him out,” Clarke said after the victory.

“And he did everything wrong and came through it with flying colours, so it’s onwards and upwards from here.”
