The Darwin Turf Club is keeping community front of mind with free admission to this weekend’s Asian United Food Service Chief Minister’s Cup.

Darwin Turf Club chief executive Brad Morgan said it was important everyone in Darwin and surrounds could come and enjoy a day at the races during the Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival.

“Traditionally this would be a family day, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, we’re unable to provide the family fun we usually do, so we want to make the day as easily accessible for everyone as we possibly can,” he said.

“It’s also a great opportunity to come and check out some of the new facilities we have here like our brand new public stand, open for the first time on Saturday, and Silks Darwin.”

Mr Morgan said although this was a free event, all tickets must be purchased through the Darwin Turf Club website.

“We have to know how many people are on course, and must ensure we know your details in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak,” he said.

“We take health and safety of our patrons very seriously.”
