OVERVIEW
Entries are now open for the 2026 TAB Territory Punter of the Year, proudly supported by TAB, held on-course at Darwin Turf Club as part of the Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival on TAB Metric Mile Day, Saturday 25 July 2026.
After last year’s competition sold out, we’ve increased capacity for 2026, with the event now strictly limited to 30 syndicates, up from 25 last year. Syndicates can be made up of between 2 – 10 people.
Syndicate members must be over the age of 18-years-of-age at the time of competition.
An entry fee of $1,000 must be paid by each Syndicate, plus $80 per team member for hospitality.
On the day of competition, each Syndicate will receive a $1,250 TAB voucher that must be wagered during the competition.
Syndicate bankroll winnings are paid out at the completion of the competition on the day, with all prizemoney paid by Friday, 31 July 2026.
There’s also more prizemoney on offer in 2026, with an increased prize pool and a new fifth-place prize added:
- First Place = $5,000 + Syndicate Bankroll
- Second Place = $3,000 + Syndicate Bankroll
- Third Place = $2,500 + Syndicate Bankroll
- Fourth Place = $1,500 + Syndicate Bankroll
- Fifth Place = $1,000 + Syndicate Bankroll
HOSPITALITY
As a condition of entry to the competition, each syndicate member must purchase a $80 luncheon ticket and receive:
- Delicious buffet luncheon
- Two complimentary drink tokens
- Racebook & pen
- Stubby holder
- Reserved seating on Level 2 of the The Grandstand
DRESS CODE: Entrants are reminded that this is a feature event and dress codes apply.
