ROB Gulberti knows a thing or two about winning big race sin Darwin and he produced another masterful training performance when Living The Dream carried off the $50,000 TAB Metric Mile at Fannie Bay on Saturday.

the man who put the polish on two-time Darwin Cup winner Ihtsahymn (2019 and 2020) arrived in Darwin from Broome with two horses only last Monday but showed he will again be a force to be reckoned with at the carnival.

Aided by a copybook Brad Rawiller ride, Living The Dream ($9.50) trailed pacemaker Starouz ($15), who was joined in the lead at the 1000m by $2.45 favourite Dominus.

Starouz kicked two lengths clear on straightening and started to drift out towards the centre of the track, and Rawiller angled Living The Dream through the gap on his rival’s inside to issue his challenge.

I Am The Fox ($6), meanwhile, has stayed to the inside and began to threaten, but over the last 75m, Living The Dream assumed control.
