Due to an unprecedented demand for premium hospitality options on Great Northern Darwin Cup Day, the Darwin Turf Club has today announced the addition of two newly created areas.

Darwin Turf Club chief executive Brad Morgan said overwhelming demand for tickets from both locals and interstate guests has meant the Club has had to be creative in adding additional catered marquees.

“This year is like no other, and the demand we have had from interstate guests for premium hospitality offerings has meant we’ve introduced two new hospitality options to keep up,” he said.

“With no international travel, we have seen first-hand the impact this has had on not just demand for us, but also demand for accommodation and other services around Darwin over that weekend.

The two additional hospitality options are:

• The Home Straight Marquee – catered marquee 150 metres from the finish line offering gourmet canapes and a beverage package. Darwin Turf Club members are $500, and non-members $560.

• Lower Atrium – a catered space under the existing Atrium Marquee, offering premium canapes and a beverage package. Darwin Turf Club members are $460, non-members $560.

Mr Morgan said the Home Straight Marquee was a welcome addition the Turf Club’s packages enjoying prime viewing of the race track.

“This offering will no doubt be highly sought after with a relaxed cocktail setting provided and a private outdoor space to enjoy the views right on the home straight,” he said.

“This is a really exciting year, and I know we will deliver on what’s going to be a very memorable and unique Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival.”
