The Darwin Turf Club are proud to announce that tickets to the 2021 Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival will go on sale at noon today (Wednesday, January 20, 2021).
The Territory’s biggest social and sporting event sees over 40,000 racegoers in attendance each year with the Great Northern Darwin Cup and its associated race days the hottest tickets in town.
Darwin Turf Club chief executive officer Brad Morgan said after a modified carnival over 2020, it was exciting to once again bring back the full eight days as well as all associated events.
“Punters will be pleased to know that the bet365 Palmerston Sprint will return to its pride of place on the Saturday before cup day, and the Darwin Turf Club Gala Ball will this year remain on the lawns of the Darwin Turf Club after wonderful feedback from 2020.
“There are also some new additions throughout the four-week carnival, including The Paddock on cup day which will be a ticketed space with DJ entertainment, lounges and market umbrellas so we are really bringing some new and exciting things to the Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival.”
Mr Morgan said that most exciting is that corporate boxes on Darwin Cup day are already over 90 per cent sold, with almost all of those sales coming from interstate guests.
“It is very exciting to see such unprecedented interest from interstate, and we have been fielding upwards of 20 calls a day with people enquiring about the Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival, a testament to what a great event this is for the Territory.
“Race goers should not hesitate in buying their tickets as we are expecting another complete sellout.”
Day 1 of the carnival commences with the running of the Darwin guineas race day on July 3 and culminates with the Great northern Darwin Cup to be held on Monday, August 2.
