Tickets are on sale for this year’s Bridge Toyota Ladies’ Day with a crowd pleasing schedule of events, special guests and racing action.
The $50,000 Bridge Toyota Cup highlights the day’s six race card alongside the Nautilus Aviation Rose Bowl; a race dedicated to the fillies and the mares of the track offering $30,000 in prize money.
The Carnival of Colour will come to life as thousands of ladies congregate on course in search of the fun, fashion and frolics that Bridge Toyota Ladies’ Day presents. Patrons can enjoy the dry season racing under plentiful shade, or from the beautiful surrounds of the Pearl Bar.
Those who have a ticket to the Bridge Toyota Ladies’ Day luncheon in the Schweppes Pavilion will be enchanted by a secret garden theme. Back by popular demand, Greg and Ali, from Mix 104.9 will host the day as the ladies are entertained by the star of musicals Hairspray and Grease, Barry Conrad. I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here contestant and male model, Kris Smith, will take to the judging panel for Darwin Waterfront Fashions on the Field, and Australian fashion designer, Petar Prodanovic will be back performing live illustrations throughout the day.
The first of the Darwin Waterfront Fashions on the Field competitions launch on Ladies’ Day: one trackside for GA guests; and, one in the Schweppes Pavilion at the Bridge Toyota Ladies’ Day luncheon. Not only will the winners fast track themselves into the final on Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Day, but there will be thousands of dollars worth of prizes on offer. In the Schweppes Pavilion a Paspaley Australian South Sea pearl Lavalier valued at over $3,000 will be awarded to the first place winner of the day.
“The line up of events at the Bridge Toyota Ladies’ Day this year this year is very exciting. We are focusing on activities and new additions right across the course. This will provide an inclusive day for all on track”, said Darwin Turf Club Marketing and Sponsorship Manager Laura Tucker.
“A new general admission Darwin Waterfront Fashions on the Field competition will take place with lots of new activities in the Pearl Bar. With a career that spans music, screen, fitness and fashion, Barry Conrad, will be the main entertainment at the Ladies Day luncheon with dancing on the lawns with local favourites, The Kicks, after the last race”, she said.
“The highlight of the day as always will be the fashion and I can’t wait to see the ladies embrace our Carnival of Colour theme this year. Myer Ambassador and male model Kris Smith will be our celebrity guest judge on the day, so don’t miss the opportunity to come and meet our special guest, Kris, trackside”, said Ms Tucker.
