Day 5 of the Carnival is the TAB Metric Mile Day, and the $50,000 feature provides the last opportunity for Cup hopefuls to make the field for the big one on the final day of the Carnival.

The 1600m event is one of seven top-quality races on the day, with the $32,000 Flying Sprint and the $40,000 3yo handicap and other events are sure to create plenty of interest.

Past winners of the TAB Metric Mile include the Bob Richard-trained Spartan Eagle (2013 & 2014) and the Neil Dyer-trained Palmyra Boy (2009 & 2010). Last year’s winner, the Terry Gillett-trained That’s Justified will be looking for back-to-back victories.

Check out the air-conditioned Pearl Bar, accessible with a GA ticket holders, featuring live entertainment as well as bar and betting facilities.

What To Wear

Entry to general admission areas of the race course requires guests to be neatly dressed. Footwear and a shirt must be worn at all times. Members’ dress standards apply to the Ted Bailey Grandstand and Sid Parker Verandah/Members Club House.

Transport

The racecourse is approximately a seven minute drive from the CBD. There are a number of transport options available to our valued patrons.

Where To Eat

There is an array of dining options at the Dining Turf Club, from a snack bar menu in the Ted Bailey Grandstand to a three-course lunch on our feature race days.
