The Great Northern Darwin Cup is one of the largest sporting and social events in the Northern Territory. The iconic event is run over 2050m and boasts a total prize pool of $200,000.
The day is broadcast to over 40 nations and will see a crowd of 20,000 racegoers converge on Fannie Bay for a day of fashion, entertainment and unsurpassed hospitality.
Past dual winners include the Rob Gulberti-trained Ihtsahymn (2020 & 2019) and the Neil Dyer-trained Hawks Bay (2012 & 2011). Last year, the Nicole Irwin-trained Highly Decorated led from start to finish, continuing an incredible winning streak of 7-straight wins.
Entry to general admission areas of the race course requires guests to be neatly dressed. Footwear and a shirt must be worn at all times. Members’ dress standards apply to the Ted Bailey Grandstand and Sid Parker Verandah/Members Club House.
