What’s On
On the track
The $135,000 Ladbrokes NT Derby, the Blue Riband of the Carnival for the three-year-olds, is also the second leg of the Ladbrokes Triple Crown Bonus. If the three-year-old that took out the HOT 100 Guineas can claim the Derby, the only obstacle to the $100,000 bonus and a place in history is the Great Northern Darwin Cup.
The $35,000 Weight For Age Plate (1200m), which provides ballot free entry into the bet365 Palmerston Sprint, and the $50,000 Buntine Handicap (1900m) are key testing grounds for the Carnival features, with the latter providing free entry into the Great Northern Darwin Cup on Day 8.
Off the track
The customary palate of black and white ensures Derby Day is one of the most stylish and contested days of the Darwin Waterfront Fashions on the Field.
The place to be seen on Ladbrokes Derby Day is the Pearl Bar. With free entry for all on course, this stunning alfresco enclosure offers close proximity to the finish line and elegant surrounds. A welcome home for the stylish set, the Pearl Bar will be particularly popular on Derby Day featuring relaxed live music.
