The Top End’s search for the next vocal superstar is on, with the announcement of the 2016 Pitch Perfect competition now open for registrations.
The Darwin Turf Club’s Pitch Perfect competition is a vocal talent contest, accessible to all high school aged students from the Top End and surrounds. Taking place this year at the Hot 100 Guineas, Day 1 of the Darwin Cup Carnival on Saturday 2nd July, the event has become the community focused highlight of Carnival time.
Contestants will get the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a panel of professional judges and eager onlookers, with the chance to propel themselves into certain stardom. The winner of Pitch Perfect will perform in front of thousands at the Qantas Darwin Turf Club Gala Ball, as well as at the prestigious Chief Minister’s Cocktail reception at Parliament House, held in celebration of Carnival time.
Past Pitch Perfect winners such as the 2014 star Stevie Jean Kyriacou have gone on from the competition to grace the national stage. Now forewoman of the four piece collective Gaia, the band has graced the airwaves of Triple J, as well as forming a cult following in the Top End and the new music scene on a national scale.
To register for the 2016 Pitch Perfect Competition, please request an entry form from your school’s music department.

Please note there are 2 entries per school.
